About The iCademy Globe
iCademy Globe is the online student newspaper of K-12 iCademy. Mission: We at the iCademy Globe believe that our goal is to inform, to entertain, to inspire, to provoke thought, and to provide our fellow students with knowledge to better understand the world around them and one another.

Staff List:
Ashley Eidler: Ashley Eidler lives in sunny Mexico with her parents, sister, and two Labradors. She’s an aspiring writer and loves drawing and taking pictures. Her affinity for fun-fact finding led her to take charge of the Far-Fetched Factoids column. When she’s not working on articles, one can usually find her typing fervently on other projects, chatting with friends, or just enjoying her pool. She plans to be a writer someday, as long as her keyboard doesn’t give out first!
Josephine Chuah: (Editor) Meet Josephine, a full blooded Malaysian-Chinese, also known as Jo C. She currently is situated in Malaysia with two very supportive parents and two adorable younger sisters. She is a full-time iCademy student in the 11th grade. Doing school work, charity work, work-outs at the gym and dancing are her greatest passions and interests. She’s actively involved in the Royal Rangers. Netball and badminton are the sports she’s good at. One of her weird addictions in life would be the great sense of achievement and success she feels every time she overcomes a problem. She is also working to set up a non-profitable organization, along with her mum. Though being involved with many clubs takes up most of her time, she believes that it is truly worth it, especially when all the effort is being put into a good cause. Being able to speak Malay, Chinese, and English, Jo C. plans to learn Spanish sometime soon, and believes that communication is one of the elements needed to succeed. Her favorite original quote of all time would be this: “Being able to gain knowledge would be ability, but to be able to share what you’ve gained is a priceless gift given.”
Austin Sigl: Austin Sigl is a 16-year-old student with the iCademy. He lives in Texas with his parents, sister, and one dog. He enjoys writing political articles for The iCademy Globe, and hopes to pursue a career in political journalism. His dream is to major in both telecommunications and political science at the University of Florida, and to one day have his own political talk show on television. When not occupied by his studies and the newspaper, Austin can be found in his backyard playing basketball, riding his bike, swimming, or hanging out with friends. He is also the sports editor for the newspaper and yearbook at the private school he attends part-time.
McKenna Tucker: McKenna Tucker lives in the United States in Tennessee. She is a Freshman and full-time iCademy student, and has been with K12 since its inception in 2001 (“K12 is definitely my academic home!”). She has many interests and passions in life including writing, photography, learning about world countries and cultures, finances and entrepreneurship (she owns her own business), learning foreign languages, and trotting the globe. McKenna is on a National Geographic Kids expedition team and recently journeyed to Peru on an "adventure of a lifetime," where she explored places like Machu Picchu, the Amazon Rainforest, Cuzco, Lima, and Sacred Valley. One of her favorite quotes is "Most people don't aim high and miss; they aim low and hit." She believes that “if you learn to have a thirst for knowledge and reach for the stars, dreams can come true.”
Audrey Cabral: Audrey Cabral, a sixteen-year-old full-time iCademy student, lives in the United States in Rhode Island. She joined iCademy when Lyme disease prevented her from attending her old school, but now she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has been very grateful for the unique opportunities iCademy has provided her with. Audrey loves to read and write, as well as bake, cook, scrapbook, snowboard, and ride horses. She loves nature and animals and enjoys working with children. She’d like to be a teacher, psychologist, or therapist in the future. Like a few of her fellow members, she hopes to someday publish a book. Audrey would love to travel the world, too, and be able to experience different cultures. Audrey enjoys sharing her favorite recipes in the iCademy Globe’s Cultural Cooking and Crafts section.
Nickolas Urpi: Nickolas Urpi is sixteen years old and likes to write music, stories, and poems. He is a pianist and an avid reader who enjoys the work of Hawthorne, Poe, Tolkien, and many others.
Natalie Quade: A 15 year old sophomore who lives in central Missouri with her brother, mom, and dad. Natalie Quade lives on a rural farm, over flowing with 14 animals on 13 acres of land. Her favorite activity is riding Gingersnap, a 4 year old Quarter Horse. History is one of her favorite subjects, as she enjoys being involved in the latest world issues and knowing her heritage. Literature is her other favorite subject, as she loves to write about her life and acquire new knowledge from ancient works of art to present day revelations. Over all, Natalie just loves to learn and is eager to be a wiser person every day.
